Starbucks   [55-word story] | 7

When he tried to imagine stories, he was always in some version of Starbucks. As if the franchise had somehow taken up real estate in his imagination -- and not merely (like some obscure conspiratorial front organization posing as caffeine-purveyors) in his neighborhood, state, country, and most probably the entire world.

It worked, anyway, as setting.
