"Words"   [55-word story] | 29

"It is generally but erroneously prattled," one Zen teacher observed, "that truth can never be expressed in words.

"This foolish misunderstanding is as wrongheaded as it is commonplace. To express the deepest truth in words, is no more difficult than peeling an apple.

"What I can's grasp, and confounds me, is this. What are words?"
