"Like three wishes"           [quasi-rictameter]

it seems

like three wishes

you're granted by a djinn

usually the first is wasted

the second likewise will come to no good

but you had best watch for the third

this is where everything

turns on its head!

(it seems)

written for an exercise
vide: Exercise - Poetry - Rictameter
(Caferati on Ryze)

[ps -- I messed up; a real rictameter is based on count of syllables, not count of words. should be in lines 2/4/6/8/10/8/4/6/2 syllables; I did that, but counting whole words. So this is a new something, but not properly a rictameter. I'll classify it as a quasi-rictameter.]

Twist,
thanks again --
I suppose there's a lot one can do messing with these simple elements in such a space, if one takes the time. This has seemed a curious "illustration" of the "concept" of the form. ;-)

CactusJump,

oh, you liked that poem more than you like this one? -- I wasn't even 100% sure I would bother blogging that one ;-) -- but on strength of your remark, perhaps I will. But it waits to be seen where this series goes with a 3rd one (if, that is, I fail to take my own advice and do write a 3rd one). Time will tell . . .

cheers,
d.i.
