"O soul" [ghazal]
Too long have you eluded me O soul!
you dressed & then denuded me O soul!
through many eyes & mirrors you espied me!
why have you now occluded me O soul?
behold me! don't I bear your very face?
you magically protruded me O soul!
should you appear the world might turn to mist!
toward what have you exuded me O soul?
no matter where I look your smile shimmers
your tears as well have flooded me O soul
if those who praise you merit so much scorn
do doubters speak unsuitably O soul?
Ardeo's getting irked with all your hauter!
your fineness has but cruded me O soul
you dressed & then denuded me O soul!
through many eyes & mirrors you espied me!
why have you now occluded me O soul?
behold me! don't I bear your very face?
you magically protruded me O soul!
should you appear the world might turn to mist!
toward what have you exuded me O soul?
no matter where I look your smile shimmers
your tears as well have flooded me O soul
if those who praise you merit so much scorn
do doubters speak unsuitably O soul?
Ardeo's getting irked with all your hauter!
your fineness has but cruded me O soul
