"Summer rain"       [7 linked haiku]

Summer rain this morn
percussive in its clangor
while some rest in dream

dim chirpings of birds
are much more quiet than this!
kettle drums abound

ah plastic sheeting
must be what the raindrops are
beating on out there!

for marching soldiers
"one!-two! three!-four!" keeps the time
as my father sang

marching cadences
were often terribly lude
like comic raindrops?

satire in nature
is a human projection
or presumably!

who'll clarify what
the puppeteer is up to
as clouds come & go?

I'm writing a summer poem myself; no, not about rain...just the Delhi heat. We sure could do with some rain here. :(

And finally, you have word verification!

about the word verification -- well I was hit by literally HUNDREDS of blog spam comments within a mere single day! -- there were typically 8 or so (repetitively -- the same ones) per blogged item; clearly some stupid haywire bot was plowing through my blog. So in that situation, I was fairly forced (at least as a temp. measure) to do this, alas.

The rain was brief (part of one day), but nice.

cheers,
d.i.

ps: don't monsoons hit you soon?
