"Grammatical mistakes in a love letter"   [found language riff]

I'm often scoffed at for my obsession with Queen's English
and my tendency to write back to my fiance
about grammatical mistakes in a love letter.

        -- Shanya Rehman

Grammatical mistakes in a love letter!
ah the subject and the object grow confounded
the topic topsy-turveys with the predicate
                the nape's foregrounded

the fingers seem to trundle from the shoulders
the ears are sprouting out of dainty toes
grammatical mistakes in a love letter
                one might suppose?

Grammatical mistakes in a love letter!
the definite article's bleached into submission
the active has been pacified by seaspray
                on secret mission

the whispers are emerging from the coattails
the bosom proves a plausible trove of flowers
grammatical mistakes in a love letter?
                it might be ours
