8 | "Cinéma vérité"
I'd been planning to be an acupuncturist
and Chinese herbalist a fact that
comes to mind as mildly relevant
as I'm rereading poem no. 5 in this
verse-libre sequence I thought
I was done with but no there's still
some more where that came from
a supply potentially inexhaustible
but exhaustive excavation could
exhaust the patience of poet and
reader so one grows chary of words
a little spare although not fore
swearing the casual pleasures
of insouciant utterance here
here where there's such liberty
to speak on point or at random
the random that isn't necessarily
so random as all that for doesn't
the instinct that shapes the poem
have its simulacrum-of-an-agendum?
but souls or poems like dreams or
daydreams have rules that differ
from the powerpoint manner of
commanding points so in the soul's
powerpoint show there might be
no words a beak of a bird
followed by a snapshot of a cellphone
or a taxicab an old shoe et cetera
cinéma vérité at some remove
from the rumbling world motionless
pictures from an exhibition & in
another room? ballet pathetique

Bravura performance! Evaluating a poem sequence like this will lead to a maze within a maze.
Bursting with elan.
Mahendra
shukria Mahendra --
a maze within a maze?
Perhaps it's lucky I concluded the sequence before it became inextricable tangle. ;-)
cheers,
